OBSERVATION
This Observation was done in 1st week of the program.
Planning for Teaching
Planning is the best antidote for
the nerves that many people feel when teaching a subject for the first time or
meeting a new group of students. It is also the only way to ensure that your
educational objectives are achieved. Planning begins with thinking about how
you would like your students to approach their learning in your subject, and
what you would like them to understand, know or be able to do by the end of the
session. Whether you are planning a subject for the first time, or reviewing an
existing subject it is important to consider the effects of your teaching and
assessment on students' learning. The teacher
have choose teaching method, make lesson plan before teaching.
Preparing Lessons and Materials
The teacher had
prepared the material used to teach the day before class. Teacher informed to
class about what topic to be discussed so that the students were able to
prepare. Teacher prepared activities for teaching, method in delivering
material, and also the assignment. The treatment given need to be similar to
get equal achievement of the class.
Teacher prepared
some information related to the story, that is not written in text, such as background
of the story, some problems exist to the characters, and other things. The
information was prepared to share more to students.
Teaching in Class
The teacher taught as the steps she wrote in lesson plan. She knew how to
manage the time well, implement all the activities in allotted time. She could
handle students, gave responsive mentors and guidance. She could overcome
unexpected case such as students who do not have book or need more time to
understand the story.
Measurement and Evaluation
The measurement or
scoring was record from recitation log and
assignment in last session. Recitation log is a record of students
individual score that may be added when they actively answer teacher’s question
or questioned other students in their presentation, or give feedback.
